A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hello parents,
I am honored to serve you and look forward to continue building on the work that I have done the past five years as a resource teacher here at Valleydale. During my time here, my focus has been helping students navigating through socio-emotional issues and making sure they know that there will always be someone here that cares for them and wants the best for them.
At the same time, having high expectations of our kids and providing the support for them to meet those high expectations, is a priority for us. The high expectations includes making sure our students are prepared for a 21st century world that is interconnected and driven by technological forces that require us to prepare them to meet those changes.
We are training our teachers to confront those challenges with training in the use of robotics and coding. Our students also have the option of enrolling in the dual immersion program that gives students a cognitive and social advantage over others because being bilingual in an increasingly interconnected world is another tool at their disposal.
Collaboration is another strategy that we use to our advantage. From the Professional Learning Community model that focuses us on student learning to the collaboration that students practice with each other, we are working together to make a better tomorrow.
We know and believe that we can't do this alone. It truly takes a village to raise a child and having our parents as partners in the learning journey of our students matters to us. I truly believe that parent involvement matters. It matters for us to keep you informed as to what is happening in the classroom as well as having your input. Only together can we navigate this recovery from the deepest parts of the pandemic into a learning community where we nurture our students into future caring leaders ready to one day take over the world and change it for the better.
